Ever since the release of the Christmas Vendetta, I haven't really looked for much in the way of new shit from the Beetroots. But after some thought, I decided to look, and surely enough, they've uncovered some new shit in a mix they did for Annie Nightingale. So far I love it, classic fucking sound, they used some pretty clever songs, and they even threw in a Rifoki song, yikes. We shall see how this all turns out. Long live these two motherfuckers, I knew they'd pull through for me. Enjoy

Well it had to happen sometime. These coworkers, Steve Aoki, and Bob Rifo (you may know them) were into punk once in a blue moon. I knew it would catch up to them like this. Knowing about Rifo's history, he went through a lot of phases; everything from classical to punk to electro. Aoki had a punk band wayyyy back when known as "The Machine Kills". Bet y'all didn't know that. Well, looks like the roots have resurfaced in this new collaboration, it's called "Sperm Donor" and I can't understand what they're saying so I have no idea why. It's fucked. Enjoy.

For all of you that think you know what you're about to experience. I'm gonna bet that you don't. Well for most of you at least. NO, this is not the Bloody Beetroots' Remix, I'm sorry for those that are disappointed by that. Actually, not really, heheh. This version kills the remix, mostly because of one reason I said before, some remixes are just going to shit these days, therefore we must rely on the Original Mixes to bring us the ear candy we deserve. I'm not saying all remixes are bad, but there used to be a time when seeing "Remix" at the end of a track would bring butterflies to my stomach. It's just not the same anymore. I digress. This version of the track is just so much heavier than its mainstream remix brother. It doesn't have any "filler". It's simplistic with a slightly primitive touch, it actually makes me kind of frightened. So... Who the fuck are you? Hopefully someone who enjoys this track.

We all know that at we had a phase where mash-ups were the shit. HOOD INTERNET R.I.P. In our headphones and stereos, their estimated life was about... Beginning of grade 12, until Christmas break (2008/2009). Funny how the phases, and mainstream music trends come and go. Well I stumbled upon some of my old goofy mash-ups; I found Super Mash Bros (they blow), Girl Talk (He Blows), and well, who could forget about The Hood Internet (They were actually chill as fuck), aaaand well... This. My personal favorite is "Stuntin' like my daddy in Beverly Hills". Enjoy.

Ok, I'm getting bored of new music, let's have a phase where we go back to listening to the music we listened to long long ago. Well... Y'all don't really have to, but I am, for this post.. I honestly don't know how I thought of this one, but it's definitely a classic for me, track, video, drugs, OD, die. It's all in the name of a good fucking song isn't it? These Italians know, and have known for a long while how to fuck shit up. Here it is, classic track #1, CORNELIUS! Enjoy, hipsters, and sadly mainstreamers.

Retro-rific!
SO as most of you out there, The Bloody Beetroots did a remix to Sound of Stereo's heavy track "Heads up". I personally think they butchered it; as I'm hearing a lot in remixes these days. It's really disappointing when I'm looking for remixes and I'm expecting great things, and I found out the songs been taken, bent down, raped by mainstream, and sent out for production. Fuck that, personally. Well, this is some independent artist's remix of "Heads up" and I think it's fucking brilliant. It's simplistic, it's evil, it's just IT. Enjoy, I know I fuckin' did.

Pretty indie, imo.
So Royksopp is a Norwegian electronic music production duo. I wouldn't think that the mainstream knows much of them, or their existence; but they are out there, waiting to be heard and widely admired. Their sound is fairly unique, it isn't like generic electronica, it has its touches, which makes it, well... Royksopp. In my mind, they had their one feel good song: Happy Up Here. I listened to it, liked it, rocked it, got over it. Now though, I stumbled upon this remix of the song, it's a mesmerizing track, and not at all true to the original. Wouldn't even recognize it to be a remix of the original. See if you can hear any similarities between the two, because I sure as hell can't. All I know is that I really like this remix, it is chill. Fienin'OK OK... I know, all drum and bass sounds alike, and you have to be some on-the-go, lone ranger, or something that fits that profile to listen to it. When I think of people who listen to drum and bass selectively, that's all I can come up with. Someone who is bald, wearing big headphones, sporting a large goatee, wearing a tight leather coat, and some scruffy generic jeans... Is it weird that I can detail that this much? hmm... Well onto the remix, I was looking through my ringtones and go figure I have several versions of Warp, all starting with a variation of the iconic "ONE, TWO, WOOP WOOP!" So I decided I didn't have enough of those, and went searching for more. When I saw the words "Warp, drum, bass, and remix" I clicked on that link faster than fast. Seeing as how I do have a previous relationship with drum and bass (even if it's not very strong). It is an intensely QUICK song. With the cutting and elements of the original and the Drum & Bass style, I think it's a remix that the "Others" will like... Meaning "not the mainstream". So if you don't mind the sound of a little DnB, check it out. Also, this post might not have made much sense, my mind was really straying, I'm so fucking tired... ENJOYYYYY.
