House N° 84

Album artwork for the Romborama album (Grotesque and Disturbing? Yeah. Awesome? Yeah.)

Romborama is the newest full-length album by The Bloody Beetroots. The album is pretty unique in it's own ways, so if you're not a fan of the weird Italian electro sound that is used by these guys, you may not like it, but it's worth a try, right? This song, which throws a combination of heavy electro music and classical samples together in a blender which is set to "Warp 7.7" speed (durp) create a heavy-hitting masterpiece. It's definitely my favorite song on the album, and you'll probably see why after listening. The song was requested to be put up by a friend, who is also a local DJ that goes by the name of DJ Corex (hopefully that still is true). In conclusion, enjoy, folks and fuckin' hipsters alike.

  1. Go figure I've yet to listen to this album. I'm one of those stereotypical "I liked the Bloody Beetroots [and the Crookers for that fact] before they blew up, like 1-2 years ago".

Regardless I'll check this track out, some people I trust told me it's the best track on the album.

As for Warp I love it and hate it. There's a million other songs that I love a lot more, but I can't say it's a bad song. I just don't "get" it, how people can love it THAT much. Though as a DJ, often times I'll toss my biases to the wayside if I know the crowd I'm playing for would go nuts for Warp, and chances are they would.

What's funny is, in a later post you mention how Deadmau5 is now mainstream. If we analyse things a little closer though, within the scene here in Edmonton and not even go as far as the radio, I look at acts like Crookers and the Beetroots and feel that even they are mainstream, relative to everything else I play. I like most of their older stuff but once they started churning out a remix every couple hours I just lost interest. I know I'm probably missing out but I'm just so turned off for whatever reason.

Anyway just my 2 cents. Keep up the great blog!
